Welcome to Februaries "Mysteries of the Mind" monthly newsletter!
As we face this difficult economic time as a nation, I believe in my heart that we must each save for the future and simultaneously take calculated risks for opportunities and long term prosperity. The gateways to success will be forged by personal innovation and creativity. The successful will build or follow new paths in this ever changing world. We must choose to use the hardship of this time to create clarity and eliminate mental clutter. Only through this may we find new paths and build the foundation for our future.
"A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes."
-Mahatma Gandhi
My job is to dabble in thoughts. Everyday, people tell me their thoughts, dreams, hopes and wishes . And we discuss the Mysteries of the Mind. People in my life are worried about so much. And I have moments of doubt as well. But then I remember that growth comes from decisive actions at crucial times. And I reflect on how fortunate I am. How lucky I am to be living in this time, here and now. It is a very powerful feeling to honor the here and now as a spring board for action.
"Don't be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
I have taken it upon myself this month to take action! I am following the 1851 advice of Indiana newspaper writer John Soule to "Go West, young man." And have rented a two bedroom townhouse in Hollywood. For the months of February through April (saving performance dates in Illinois and Pennsylvania) I will be living in Studio City. While here I am pitching television ideas, auditioning for shows, lecturing and performing at local theaters and comedy clubs. The industrial revolution was about what products we could physically build and create . Today we are living in a social networking revolution. It is all about our relationships and how we can work together to help each other accomplish mutual goals.
If you have ever spoken to me on the phone, you know that I often end conversations with one final question "Is there anything that I can do to make your world better?"
I am excited to hear how we can work together soon to accomplish mutual goals. I am excited to hear about your actions, experiments, lessons and triumphs.
Your friend,
-Paul Draper

A wonderful optical illusion!
Look at this image close up and you will see Albert Einstein, step a few feet away and you will see Marilyn Monroe. Life is all about perspective.
I Love it! You can download a full size image of this by visiting: Mentalmysteries
